This piece reimagines automobile components as architectural elements; I wanted the museum’s design to be inspired directly by the cars it showcases. I began by abstracting individual car parts and translating them into parts of a building.
The main building is three stories tall and circular, referencing the shape of a speedometer. The spiral pattern of the roof was inspired by a car’s disc brakes. The central statue, surrounded by the main structure, references a suspension coil.
Through this piece, I wanted to present my ideal vision of automobile culture and inspire people to find beauty in industrial and mechanical objects.
